HAPPY PIGGYBANK COMPANY

My client Vickey had her logo designed many years ago, and hadn't touched her branding at all. She knew it was time for a refresh so she could create a great website, update her online accounts, and create marketing materials. So she signed up for a Signature Brand and Website Design and we got to work!

In our planning phase, I pitched the idea of leaning into the "good old fashioned" side of her service with a unique retro vibe. Vickey had even tried to give her website a post-atomic, Jetsons look in the past and just couldn't get it right. So I ran with it and the end result is a fun, funky, down to Earth logo and brand she couldn't be happier with!

Project Portfolio

Brand strategy

Vickey started Happy Piggybank Company with the goal to help individuals and business owners clean up their finances and tax records. Not only that, she wanted to ensure each client felt cared for, helped, and guided through what is often an extremely stressful process.

Her Brand Strategy was to bring some personality, fun, and flair to an otherwise dull industry. To bring a human touch and sympathetic ear to clients who may have been putting this off for a very, very long time. With down-to-Earth, good old fashioned customer service and care, Vickey takes care of each client with a sincere desire to help.

It was important to still maintain a professional, capable air with her brand. The tax and financial work Happy Piggybank takes on is very important, and clients need to know they can trust Vickey to handle it all. Her true goal is to ease financial anxiety and bring order to even the most chaotic books and records.

This retro color palette is fun and unexpected in the finance space, beckoning in visitors with a fun brand that remains grounded and trustworthy.

Using both cool and warm colors balances trust and safety with energy and joy.
The bright coral gives a fun pop to balance out the soft pastels and serious blue. However, it's important to only use the coral in small doses and accents.

Brand Colors

Happy Piggybank Company had a logo in use for well over a decade. It was a cute pig wearing sunglasses, and Vickey was adamant that "the pig stays!" It was, however, time for a piggy makeover to ensure this new logo was easy to read, scalable, and versatile in multiple formats.

I named the pig Vivian and redesigned her to be cute and bold, easy to scale up or down and still be clearly seen. Her feminine, retro sunglasses symbolize a fun and personable vibe that lightens up a serious, difficult process. She is cute but not too childish.

The "Happy Piggybank" font is fun, funky, and packed with personality yet easy to read. The letters are balanced and flow well together, symbolizing Vickey's capabilities and services.

The word "Piggybank" is the same color as Vivian, linking the two together and providing consistency and balance in the logo.

Heidi Slack is a creative genius and a beautiful magical fairy!

Working with her has been a total joy - for reals. She has taken my previously amateurish paint-by-numbers site and turned it into a work of art. As an added bonus, Heidi is just lovely to work with.

Building a website and brand is a process with much adjusting and re-adjusting, and it can be a stressful experience. I have found Heidi to be calming, reassuring and extremely attentive. I can see the love and care she has put into every aspect of my brand, logo, and website.

Heart Shine is exactly the right name for her company, because she HAS made my heart shine! And we have a lot of fun. A LOT! I'm so lucky to have found Heidi and Heart Shine Brand and can't recommend her enough!
